The autumn taste and smell can be very comfortable, remembering mom's meals, pumpkin patch or festive meals shared with your family.

But the benefits of some autumn foods are not limited to feeling good. The nutrients of these five autumn foods can greatly support your mood.

1. Stomach squash
"I like the autumn season because it means squash time," says registered dietitian Jenn Fillenworth, MS, RD. Pumpkins are a small winter squash with a slight but slightly sweet taste.

There are many health benefits to pumpkins and others altogether. Pumpkins are one of the richest types of nutritional pumpkin varieties and are more antioxidants.

Stomach squash is magnesium, which is an important nutrient for depression and anxiety.
2. Apples
Of course, apples are in store all year round. However, they are particularly delicious during the apple season, which usually reaches in September and October.

Fillenworth argues that nutritional studies have focused on apple nutrition and their relationship to neuroprotective benefits in recent years. "Because the apples have a high phytochemical profile, they are great for preventing damage to the DNA, regulating hormones and reducing oxidative damage," he explains. "All these things are directly related to the promotion of good mental health."

3 pumpkins
Pumpkins are probably the most popular autumn flavor. And that should be, says Fillenworth, especially because it contains minerals that stimulate brain functions.

"The pumpkin contains lutein and zeaxanthin, these two nutrients are great for adults and older adults to remember," he explains.

In addition, it is known that pumpkin seeds help improve the mood we can use this season. They contain amino acids tryptophan, which is often compared to Turkey's Thanksgiving Day.

By incorporating tryptophan into your diet, your brain produces serotonin - a chemical that improves your mood and gives you a shared sense of content.
